1st day

Wanted to let you know that we are still well and alive at the Mara Schack residence! It has admitedly been a Long day, and more than once I reminded myself - It will all be a little better once we know eachother better, but it has been a blessed and happy day as well!

Zek is a sweetheart! He's given us lots of smiles and seems to  enjoy being held more and more. He slept until 5:15 this morning, took a bottle, and then slept with me on the recliner until almost 8am... Love holding a sleeping baby again!

Caleb LOVES Zek and lights up everytime he sees Zek - however he has a lot of learning to do - such as waddling over a baby WILL scare the baby, and sometimes Caleb is stronger than he thinks... but overall he is doing really well with Zek and is excited. Caleb has been following Trinity around everywhere and enjoys repeating things she says. I think they will have a good time together this summer. Caleb is your typical 2 1/2 yr old who has been testing everything, so he has also had fun testing Trinity... more about this in a second...

Trinity has had a good day full of exploring. Every 5 min. she was on to something new since she's never been here before. She has very good manners and works hard to please. She and Caleb fight, and laugh, like siblings already! Her hardest lesson (as is every child this age around younger kids) is that Caleb is still learning all of the same rules that she has known for a long time. She can't understand why he does some of the things he does or says. For instance, she became really upset when Caleb insisted she was a boy, so we had to discuss how he is still learning things and how we have to be patient with him learning. Unfortunately, that is the easier one - Caleb is also in the random hitting stage, which doesn't go over well for me, nor Trinity. We'll all learn together though and figure it out!

Today was also the day for accidents - mainly with my child - but I've never seen so many nose dives and scrapes in one day! Hopefully this means they've gotten all of the injuries out of the way for the summer.... at least one can hope.   :)

I was super excited about tonight because they both slept in their seperate beds! Last night they ended up in my bed at about 10:45, so there were three of us and the packn'play with Zek on the end of the bed - quite the (very tired) group! Tonight they were ALL asleep by 9 (which is especially huge for my son) so I'm happy - and VERY much ready for bed.

Thanks for all of your prayers and help everyone! This will be a good thing for the kids, and for us.

Night,
Mara
